In our recent blog, “Diz’s: Where Locals Go and Where Everybody Knows Your Name”, we talked about how our friendly team is ready to welcome you when you stop by for a meal. We enjoy introducing you to our team through our blogs and invite you to come in and meet them all at 860 Elm Street!
Melodie, Customer Liaison
If you have visited us this week, you may have noticed a new team member serving our guests! Mel has been with us for just a few days, but she is no stranger to the Diz’s Café family! In fact, she considers our restaurant her home-away-from-home!
Mel has worked in the food service industry since she was 16. In fact, her first job was working with our owner, operator and chef Diz at Shorty’s Mexican Roadhouse! (She says Diz was “scary” – until they bonded over a mutual love of the band Steely Dan and the 1977 album “Aja”!). She met Billy, our general manager (who just happens to be her best friend!), while working with Diz at Shorty’s. She and Billy then worked together at another area restaurant, where she actually managed him!
Like many of our team members, Mel loves being on Elm Street and is a frequent visitor to our neighbors at Manchester’s independent bookstore, The Bookery. An avid reader (Dean Koontz, James Patterson and Nora Roberts are among her favorite authors!), Mel says when she walked into the shop and discovered the comfortable and cozy atmosphere, she thought “This is where I am going to buy my books from now on!”
Mel enjoys the extensive menu at Diz’s Cafe, but is partial to our Honey Ginger Chicken Wings and our Chicken Broccoli Alfredo (served over cauliflower rice –just one of the ways we gladly will customize our meals for our customers!).
Welcome, Mel! We are glad to have you with us!
