“City sidewalks, Busy sidewalks,
Dressed in holiday style
In the air – There’s a feeling of Christmas…”
On Friday, December 17th, the feeling of Christmas led customers up (or down) busy city sidewalks to 860 Elm Street and Diz’s Café to celebrate “Have Yourself a Merry Little Diz-mas”, our last Diz’s theme night of 2022.
Our stockings were hung by our “fireplace” mantle (Pepsi machine). And while Santa was busy at the North Pole, he sent his elves and reindeer (okay, our servers) to greet guests and a Christmas Wish Tree captured the Christmas wishes of both the young and old alike.
And while we did not leave a plate of cookies and a glass of milk out for Santa and his reindeer, our guests dined on a festive prime rib dinner (complete with mashed potatoes and broccoli) and for dessert, peppermint cheesecake! We know Santa enjoys a good adult beverage – so our bartenders were practicing for Christmas Eve by serving Adult Hot Chocolate, Pomegranate – and a Sugar Cookie Mudslide! Guests sitting at the bar sat in chairs adorned with caps Santa sent with his elves and reindeer.
With classic Christmas music playing, guests enjoyed shaking snow globes, making a gingerbread house, and crafting holiday decorations. And Santa’s favorite elf Judi “decked our halls” by pushing her hot chocolate cart from table-to-table offering guests a cup of Diz-sign-your-own winter goodness, complete with whipped cream, marshmallows, candy canes, and festive sprinkles.
As Christmas day nears, we will close our doors at 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve and re-open at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 28th with our usual lunch and supper menu. From the Diz’s Café family to you and your family, Merry Christmas. We wish you a safe and healthy holiday, spent with those you love!
