Hey there, new Downtown neighbors — welcome home!

If you’re reading this from your new apartment at one of Red Oak or Brady Sullivan complexes, or 75 Canal, or  maybe one of the spots up/down Elm Street, consider this your official invite to get to know your new neighborhood the best way we know how: over great food, cold drinks, and the kind of friendly service that makes a place feel like home.

We’ve seen the cranes, the hard hats, and the finishing touches go up over the past year, and we’re genuinely excited to welcome so many new residents into our Downtown community. Let us be the first to introduce you to Diz’s Downtown. Located at 860 Elm Street, we’ve always considered ourselves Downtown’s kitchen alternative. We’re the spot where comfort food, cocktails, and community meet—whether you’re grabbing a solo bite after unpacking boxes, planning a casual date night, or just want someone else to make the chicken parm on a Tuesday.

Let’s Talk Weeknights

We know weekends are busy with event night crowds, and lots of downtown buzz. But Mondays through Thursdays? That’s where our locals shine.

Weeknights at Diz’s mean:

  • Happy Hour from 2–5 PM every weekday ($1 off all drinks, $2 off all apps)
  • Cozy, no-rush service that feels more like eating at a friend’s house than a restaurant
  • Lots of space to meet up with your friends, your groups and gatherings
  • An evolving list of Downtown happenings to walk to before or after your meal
  • Easy to walk to, plenty of parking, and no waitlist

And as August rolls in, Downtown starts to come alive again. July might have that vacation energy—quiet streets, lake days, and road trips—but August? It’s like a soft launch into fall. The Delta Dental 5K brings a cheering crowd, patio season hits its stride, and the REX and Palace Theatres starts teasing its fall lineup. If you’ve moved Downtown this summer, you’re arriving just in time for the good stuff.

    Diz’s Hours: M-Th 11:00AM-7:30PM | F 11:00AM-9:00PM | Sat 8:30AM-9:00PM | Sun 8:30AM-Noon
  • We serve breakfast on Saturdays & Sundays
  • We offer beer, wine, cocktails, and plenty of mocktails options.
  • Order in-house, on-line or through DoorDash. Take-out options | DoorDash
  • You can even Diz’sign Your Own Meal if you want to keep it casual but custom
  • We’re in the heart of downtown at 860 Elm — on the Bookery block, just off Cat Alley
