Roberto_Diz's Cafe

In November 2020’s blog, “Diz’s: Where Locals Go and Where Everybody Knows Your Name”, we shared how our friendly team is ready to welcome you when you stop in for a meal. We enjoy introducing you to our team through our blogs and invite you to come in and meet all of us at 860 Elm Street!

Roberto, Prep Cook

Like our other team members, prep cook Roberto loves the family atmosphere of Diz’s Café. You’ll find Roberto having fun working alongside Diz in our kitchen, where they listen to classic rock and roll while preparing food for our guests.

A native of El Salvador, Roberto has been with us since our doors opened in May 2020. After seeing his uncles leave El Salvador during that country’s civil war decades ago, Roberto moved to the United States 12 years ago in search of a better future for his children.

When Roberto arrived in Manchester, he supported his young family by cleaning restaurants. After washing dishes in local eateries, he began his cooking career. In our kitchen, Roberto enjoys making our guacamole, Dizspinaca, and marinara sauce. He also enjoys making our delicious meatloaf, which just happens to be Diz’ grandmother’s recipe!

When not working, you will find Roberto listening to music – anything from jazz to Led Zeppelin. He is also a proud business owner, as he owns a restaurant-cleaning company (and yes, Diz’s Café is one of his customers!).
